What is a keyblock
The AutoShop Controller (ASC) Desktop Edition protects it's software via a keyblock that affixes to your computer. Upon startup of AutoShop Controller, it checks for the presence of this keyblock. If present, then you may use your software for an unlimited amout of time. You own your license, so please enjoy.
If your on a single station setup then the keyblock goes on the back of your computer.
However, if your on a network, then place the keyblock on your most used computer.
You don not need additional keyblocks for each workstation.
Over the years we have had three different types of keyblocks as seen below.
 |
Type 1) Distributed from 1999 to mid 2006
This "Parallel" keyblock attaches to your computers parallel port. Note: This style of keyblock can also be blue. |
 |
Type 2) Distributed from mid 2006 to early 2007
This"USB" keyblock must be inserted into any available USB port on your computer. |
 |
Type 3) Distributed from early 2007 to present
This "USB" keyblock must be inserted into any available USB port on your computer. |
Thank you,
